The three Shantiniketan communities in Tavares publish a newsletter called Lamp. Lamp covers events and contains newsworthy articles of common interest to the community. SN3 Book Club
A library facility has been started in the SN3 Clubhouse. It is aimed at providing good reading material to the residents on a wide variety of subjects.Follow link to get a list of all books received. The categories of books are:

Guidelines for the Use of the Library- The Shantiniketan 3 Library is for the exclusive use of Shantiniketan 3 residents and certain senior staff members.
- A catalog listing all the books in the library is provided in the following sections. It carries a particular date. The catalog shall change with further additions to and deletions from the library’s inventory.
- The library shall not be manned by any member of the Library Management Team for the purpose of recording the acts of issuance and return of the book. Books can be issued to the resident and returned to the library by his or her own entries in the register provided adjacent to the book racks.
- Under normal circumstances, a book can be kept by the reader for a period of 15 days. In extenuating circumstances, this period can be extended to 30 days.
- There is no provision for imposing any fines on reasonable late returns.
- In case a reader has issued a book to himself/herself and has since decided to travel out of Tavares, he/she should return the book to the library.
- In spite of the fact that some books already have been written on with names, notes and underlines, the resident readers should refrain from defacing the books any further.
- Books are generously donated by the Shantiniketan residents, and the Library Management shall readily return any particular book the donor had earlier donated but wishes to take it back without giving any particular reason. However, the donor desirous of taking the book back should inform anyone of the Library Management Team member upon doing so.

Community Life at SN3
SN3 has a vibrant and active community, with events taking place throughout the year. Most of these activities are organized by residents, guided by the Entertainment & Social Committee.
The spirit and enthusiasm within the community are truly remarkable. In fact, the energy at SN3 often rivals—and may even surpass—that of many much younger groups.

Any resident is free to do any event. However, residents must contact the Entertainment & Social committee members before any announcement is sent out. Depending on the type of event, a socio-cultural committee member will help in coordinating the event.
